Food scene

Barrio Queen is a great/authentic Mexican food restaurant in the old town Scottsdale area. The food is excellent as are the drinks (this is a tequila bar). You will want to show up early as they usually don't take reservations unless it is a big party.

The Mission is another great/authentic Mexican food establishment. The Mission is a little more on the upscale side/expensive as it pertains to Mexican food but it is really good. Sunday's they do a taco brunch which is great but if you like Mexican this place is also worth checking out!

If you are in the mood for authentic northern Italian Veneto's is your place. Owned by an Italian family and half the patron's there speak Italian while at the restaurant you can't beat the food, wine and atmosphere if you are a family or just wanting to have a nice Italian meal!

Party Time

If you are looking to have some fun with the friends at night Bottled Blonde sits on the main strip of old town referred to as "Saddlebag" (that's the name of the street). It is a lot of fun and if you don't like this particular establishment there are about 20 others in that same area so you are bound to find a bar/night club you like!

Sightseeing

If you like hiking or want a fun outdoor activity where you can see all of Phoenix, Arizona then Camelback Mountain is your place! Now there are two different trails "Echo" and "Cholla". Echo is a shorter but much more vertical and less scenic hike, be prepared to have your legs burn. You will have to hold onto rails at some points to climb up. Cholla is a little longer but is much more scenic and is a more gradual incline (I like Cholla more). Please bring water and if you are not an experienced hiker both of these trails will be hard for you, non-locals always think these two hikes are easier than they really are. if the temperature is over 95 degrees I wouldn't suggest hiking these trails, every year people have to get emergency evacuated off the trails due to heat exhaustion so just be mindful! Seriously though they really are a lot of fun and if the weather is good they are absolutely worth hiking!
