This is a local favorite, and it gets packed every day, but especially on the weekend. I always get there before 8am if I don’t want to wait in line. So freaking delicious and worth waking up early. I love the lemonade, and the parfait is the best I’ve ever had. The buttermilk pancakes are perfection and I like to eat them with some raspberry jam on top.

The customer service is phenomenal here, and the ladies are so sweet. They have Korean and American food. I love the kimchi fried rice with an egg on top, and the dish comes with pickled veggies

Cafe Kai is totally worth all the hoops you have to jump through to get that dang musubi. It’s run by a young family. The community is understanding, and so whenever they can’t open up shop, they post their closing on Instagram. For their latest info on hours and menu, check out their Instagram. They also close as soon as they run out of musubis. So I suggest going as soon as they open. My favorite here is the spicy tuna musubi and the plantation iced tea. But if I feel like coffee, I order the caramel Mac nut iced latte. Their coffees tend to be on the sweet side.

The wings and the drinks! The wings are on special on Wing Wednesday. But be ready to compete with the whole neighborhood for a spot. I prefer my wings on a slow day. My favorite is the TPH sauce and a huckleberry lemon drop on the side. This is a 21+ bar. But if you want wings and you have kids, you can place an order for pickup.

I like to hang at Crane’s with family and friends. The selection is broad and the beer is good. Bringing your own food is encouraged. They have a large indoor area and a beer garden that’s great when it’s warmer out. You could spend hours here. It is kid friendly and many people bring their kids.

Khao Soi is my favorite Thai Restaurant in Bremerton for two reasons: Tom Ka Soup and the coconut water straight from the source. The wontons are really good too. As long as you like the ingredients, you’re sure to love the recipes. The view and the ambience is the cherry on top. And this is super close to the house…like down the street.

This is a hole in the wall miracle! It’s located in Silverdale, the town next to Bremerton. This amazing lady makes the best Thai food! Our favorite is the chicken pad Thai, spicy level 2. Every time I try someone else’s, I always end up disappointed. So I do myself a favor and head on over to the lady with the magic hands and heavenly food! I finish off my meal with the black rice pudding. OMG

This is more than just cider, it’s an experience. I’ve been at all times of the year but I prefer going in the summer. They have bands that play on the weekend, there’s dancing (for those who feel inclined), good cider, and food vendors on the weekends. Great for families and groups. A bit of a drive but absolutely, positively worth it. 100%

This is my favorite state park in the area. It is a rocky beach. I come here about 2-3x a month. I love the fragrance of the evergreens as you walk through the park. The trees are ginormous! The views are incredible! You can have a picnic or have a party in the large pavilion. It’s one of the most spectacular parks in the state and it’s so close!

This is my favorite park to do yoga at. There’s a ton of grassy areas overlooking the water. There’s a dock, a playground for children who have problems with mobility (everyone deserves to have fun), walking paths, and beautiful trees. The Bremerton farmers market is held here every week on Thursday’s from April through September.

Another beautiful waterfront park just several minutes from the house. There’s fantastic bird-watching from this park, especially in the mornings. I’ve seen multiple eagles hunting and competing for fish. In addition to walking paths and playgrounds, this park has a basketball court and tennis courts. This is a great park to go rollerblading in.

Music, all kinds of craft vendors, artists, food, and LAVENDER! Many people go, but the vibe is so laid back. Bring a chair or a blanket and just lay on the grass and listen to whatever artist is playing. No festival smells as amazing as the lavender festival.

On the hottest of days, Lake Cushman is the place to be. The views are majestic, the water is perfect for swimming and floating in. On the weekends, it gets so packed. But if you drive all the way to the end of the road, you will find parking. The first time I floated in the water and took in the surrounding views, I was filled with emotion. There is nothing like being here on a 90+ degree day. And it’s just 1.5 hours from the house!

I went on their whale watching tour in July of 2018. They guarantee you’ll see a whale or you get to come back for a second tour. The ride to find whales was wonderful. We got to see transient orca pods mating, which was such a rare and absolutely amazing experience.
