This is one of the nearest restaurants to the house. NEPO 42 (short for NE Portland on 42nd) is a great hangout with a large tent for outdoor eating. The food is always great, there are lots of interesting drinks, and the staff are friendly.

This place has delicious Mexican-American food! The two nearby Mexican restaurants are recommended as well. They are cheaper and less fancy--Ole Frijole has been our son's preference for years.
