Trendy yet cozy, with outdoor serving and bar. Excellent meat dishes! The pizzas definitely land a couple notches above your average ones too. I wouldn't recommend the standard lunch menu though.

Nice, cozy, intimate atmosphere. The closest good restaurant from my apartment. Can't really vouch for the food since it's been years since I ate there but I was more than happy the last time.

Great pastries and cakes, nice variety of bread for breakfast etc. and really great salads and grilled sandwiches. A very nice place for a quiet coffee/light lunch. A quality bakery!

Smart, modern, light and with possibility to sit outdoors. They have a cozy fire going in the winter and the coffe is good. Smack in the city center.

Right across the street from my apartment, in Tändsticksområdet. Very nice cafe, really nice features and atmosphere and good prices though the selection might not be the best at all times..

Unique location in a 16th century building, there's a beautiful medieval painting in the ceiling, only found in recent years. Their specialty is sandwiches - perfect for a light lunch break.

Sightseeing
The museum don't have as many original paintings by John Bauer as one would wish but I still think that the artwork they do have is well worth a visit. Fairytale corner á la J.B. for the youngest!

The city park, complete with a nice playground for the young ones. No fees. Beautiful forest park with nice trails and even fireplaces - with wood for a night under the stars or a BBQ in the "wild".

On this side of town, after the railroad tracks have made a turn away from the shore line, you find a long, nice sand beach. During summer, on warm sunny days, it's well visited.

The closest grocery store, less then a 5 minute walk away. They have good variety of all the usual articles and is well organized.

This is where the official post office is placed in Jönköping. There are no regular post offices in Sweden anymore. Also a huge supermarket. Here you can send and receive parcels and packages etc.
