Avalon Beach is the closest beach to the house. It has a pool, which is great for kids but the beach can be a bit rough. Its a great surf beach. It also has a great kiosk and restaurant right on the beach. The walk to Avalon Beach is about 15minutes.

For a great family day out, try The Basin picnic area, offering swimming, walking and barbecue facilities on Pittwater, in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. As there is no vehicle access to picnic site, the only way to get there is by boat.
