It's not because of the base, even though "I Dream of Jeannie" was filmed here. It's because of the pristine beaches you will find directly across from the base. Just pull over and find a path .. no condos, no houses, and real dunes. You'll find sea oates, sea grapes, and native palms along your way. You will find the smell of salty air and a view that will .. make your world .. a whole lot of good.
