Food Scene

This is a special place. It is small and you will have to book in advance (same day is fine). Their menu is full of adaptations of local dishes, inspired by the sea. It's delicious and always at the affordable Portuguese prices, and frequented by locals (me and my local family always go there when I'm home).

Stunning views over Lisbon. This sea food restaurant always has the freshest fish, picked daily from the local fisherman's and cooked as you best wish (for me, best is always grilled). The amazing terrace is right by the river front and boasts an incredible view over Lisbon and the Belém area. A must for a nice lunch with the family.

One of the classic sea food restaurants of Caparica. People come from everywhere on the weekends to try their "Caldeirada de Marisco" ou "Arroz de Marisco", heavy stews loaded with the best sea food from the region. They are right by the sandy beaches, which will give you an amazing view. Come early on the weekends or you might have to wait in line for a table.

This place restaurant is special in its own right: they don't do large plates, only food to share, in the best "tapas" style. It's all about delicious appetizers and food prepared to make you palate have a trip. Try from the several types of Portuguese sausages (chouriços), meats cooked in a myriad ways, fish, squid, octopus, and the list goes on. They open late afternoon (and some days at lunch too) and are perfect to match with the best wines on offer, for a long culinary treat.

Parks & Nature

The beaches of Caparica are just amazing. Closer to Trafaria you can go to São João (5min away) where you will find less people. Even more special are the beaches of Cova do Vapor, right where the river meets the sea, in a small local town that tends to privilege their isolation - Cova do Vapor is a bonus finding. Once past Costa da Caparica heading south you will find breathtaking >10K long stretches of sandy beach which are perfect for anything beach-related, being surfing, family activities on the sand, coffees and lunches by the beach.
