Sightseeing
The village of Santillana del Mar is located on the western coast of Cantabria, bordering the Bay of Biscay. In 1881, to the 25 years, is chosen academic of the Real Academy of the Language. Later it will be of the History (1883), of Moral and Political Sciences (1889) and of Fine Arts of San Fernando (1892). In 1905 he presented his candidacy for the Nobel Prize and in 1909 he was elected director of the Royal Academy of History. He was Deputy in Cortes and Senator until his death by the Spanish Royal Academy.
