Mount Irau is a high mountain located at Pahang. Its summit is 2110 metres (6922 feet), making it the 15th highest mountain in Malaysia. Mossy forest and fairyland, cold wind and misty clouds; are some of the characteristics at Irau. One must hike about three hours to reach Irau from the base of the mountain.
It takes around 3-4 hours to reach the peak.

The Parit Falls is another spot that you can go from Tanah Rata. It is actually located in Kampung Sedia. To get here, you need to get to the Century Pines Resort as well and take the route from behind there. Reaching the waterfall is quite easy where you will find a lot of facilities and infrastructure for visitors. As you head towards the Parit Falls, you will be welcomed by a lot of amazing flora and fauna while there is a watchtower there that gives you a spectacular view of the surroundings!

Parit falls
The Parit Falls is another spot that you can go from Tanah Rata. It is actually located in Kampung Sedia. If the interest lies in scenic vistas, enjoying charismatic natural surroundings and enclosing the panoramic beauty in the form of pictures, then an ideal location to visit in Cameron Highlands is the Lavender gardens. Beautiful landscaped garden covered with purple haze lavender is a brilliant sight to admire. Though not very big but it has well paved pathways that gives an excellent view of the entire colourful scenic extravaganza. A leisure walk along the garden is a splendid way to spend some quality time with loved ones in midst the treasures of nature.

Jardín de Lavanda (Cameron Lavender)

It has a good collection of plants and foliage which includes roses, calla lily impatiens, fuchsia, ananas, camellia, hibiscus, rhododendron, bird of paradise, glory bush, clivia miniata, peaches, hippeastrum, geranium, coleus and many others. Even various apple trees and passion fruits are also cultivated in this region. One of the interesting part of visiting this place is that all these versatile plants cultivated and stored here are available for sale too. The specimen are grown in pots and can be easily carried.
Boh Tea Estate at Habu has kept most of its old buildings and retained its authenticity and charm. In contrast, the one in Sungai Palas exudes a modern feel with its focal point being the café housed in a contemporary structure overhanging a hill top. The one in Habu is less frequented by tourists and is hence more quiet and peaceful. The drive to the Habu centre is actually pleasant and enjoyable – just before arriving at the tea estate, the drive along a country road takes you through picturesque vegetable farms.
The tea centre opens at 9am, they would let you in to the plantation past the guardhouse at 8.30am. You can find cold crisp mountain air and took in the beautiful views of the green rolling hills of neatly trimmed tea bushes during the morning. Some suggestions on how you could spend a relaxing morning there: Firstly, enjoy a leisurely morning walk. One option is to head down the path that leads to the workers’ village and an Indian school. A more popular option is to do an easy ~5-10 minutes climb (if you’re reasonably fit) up to the “View Point” at the back of the café, to enjoy the spectacular picture-postcard aerial view of the BOH tea factory surrounded by the green hills. Secondly, learn about tea processing by joining a ~10 minutes tour at the old factory. Thirdly, savour a cup of tea together with scones and sandwiches in the café with a view.
