Either go early, or put your name on the wait-list and wander around The Streets of Southglenn while you wait. Otherwise, there are other locations around the Denver area that you could try (but all of them get packed very quickly).

Great place for: exercise ('Yoga on the Rocks', or running up the hundreds of stairs); beautiful views of nature & the city of Denver in the distance; or catching a concert (The Beatles played here -- check out the museum to see an iconic photo of them playing at this venue)! You really can't go wrong with visiting at any time of day or any day of the week, just depends what scene you'd prefer!

You can walk up and around the road, with stops along the way of dinosaur fossils and imprints! Super cool! There are dirt trail-offshoots along the road, if you'd like a longer nature hike.
