As an important halt for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella, Saint Guilhem le Désert is part of the most beautiful villages of France and is listed as one of the Grand Sites de France®. Well deserved titles. The village is nestled between the dazzling cliffs of the Val de Gellone. When the night falls and when the evening sun touches the rock bringing golden shades to the abbey, the village is at its best.

One of Frances most beautiful villages. Take a picnic lunch and swim in the river after visiting. Many restaurants and craft shops in the village. Well worth the drive!
