While you are over checking out Fort Stevens be sure to check out the old military grounds. Buildings and hideouts all built into the grounds. Maybe if you are lucky while you are there they will be holding their reenactments !

Located inside Fort Stevens Park, the Battery Russell, built between 1903 and 1904, is an abandoned military installation that helped protect the Oregon Coast from invaders and has the distinction of being the sight of a Japanese submarine attack during WWII.
