About 15 minutes east of Cleveland you'll find Euclid Beach Park on the site of a once popular amusement park (the carousel is preserved at the Cleveland History Museum) that operated from 1895-1969. Very little is left of the amusement park but a lovely beach is still there and a worthy main attraction. Less crowded than Edgewater Beach and worth a visit.

If you want to lay out on the beach and relax, this is within walking distance. There's a pier you can walk out on for some stunning photos.
