Zilker Park is where ACL happens, where a great Zilker Christmas Light Show is, where the Stevie Ray Vaughn bronze is. Close enough to Casa Willow and Holly Neighborhood. Google what is happening at Zilker when you come.

Walk around town lake or take a blanket and a picnic down to Zilker park. It is Austin’s version of Central Park.
Barton Springs Pool, Town Lake, and the Lady Bird Hike and Bike trail are joined at the center by the best park to stroll, throw a blanket on the grass, play beach volleyball, or just sit on a bench and people watch.
Great place to walk around and enjoy the park. During the holidays there’s a trail of lights but tickets are required for the light trail.

“Over the years, people have come to this 1,000 foot long natural limestone pool, fed by several underground springs, for everything from fishing and swimming to baptisms and beauty pageants. It can be chilly event during a Texas summer, but it's always a cool scene. ”

“The pink-granite building is the centerpiece of downtown Austin, perched on a hill at 12th Street and Congress Avenue. Free guided tours are held daily, starting in the South Foyer, but brochures are also available on the first floor for self-guided tours. The Texas Legislature meets every two years, so you’ll have to check the schedule if you want to see an actual session in progress.”

“You may not want to see a movie on vacation, but if you do - THIS is where you should go. You can walk there through the West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt (warning, you DO have to cross train tracks), but may be too tricky at night. Also, a short drive.”

“The Bullock Texas State History Museum tells the state's story through a variety of interesting interactive exhibits, along with audio-visual displays and film. The permanent Story of Texas exhibit is home to artifacts and displays that feature defining events in the state's history. Artifacts include the preserved hull of the 17th-century La Belle, which was shipwrecked at the mouth of the Mississippi River. Other exhibits and presentations include the fall of the Alamo, Tejano culture, and the history of the Texas oil industry. The museum's IMAX theater shows educational and popular new-release films. The museum also hosts many special events throughout the year, including children's activities and public presentations.”
