“Cosmo’s is a dive bar (not uncommon in East Dallas) with vintage kitsch in spades. A drink menu full of strong specialty martinis, old- and new-school cocktails, and surprisingly really good food turns newcomers into regulars every night. ”

“A neighborhood on the eastern edge of downtown Dallas once known for jazz/blues clubs and warehouses/factories, it's now a mix of old and new buildings with enough living, dining, shopping, tattoo parlors, bars and music venues located in the old industrial buildings to give it a very cool vibe. Lots of great murals and other art found in this neighborhood. In non-pandemic times, there's a major artist playing in at least one of the music venues every weekend. For now, it's a great place to walk around and grab takeout food from one of the many places with outdoor seating. See if you can find the Anthony Bourdain mural or the one with baseball legend Nolan Ryan. Parking tip: park in a paid lot or on a street as close to the "action" as possible. Safe at night as long as you don't get too far away where it may not be lighted very well.”
