Burlington waterfront, ferry docks, and the surrounding area are worth exploring for urban enthusiasts, with some remnants of BTV’’s former past as a major port for lumber and other goods. The bike path south goes past some interesting historic RR buildings,. Check out the graffiti murals on the old shipyard building near King Street ferry dock.

If you are here in the fall, walk on to the ferry, climb up to the top deck, sit down and enjoy a beautiful tour of Lake Champlain all the way over to New York State. A great way to spend the day seeing the fall color. Take the car if you want to explore NY and come home via the Champlain Bridge.
