Hike from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas Beach. Hire an Uber or taxi to drive you to Boca de Tomatlan. Once in BdT, hike in among the jungle along the ocean to Animas Beach (only accessible on foot or boat). Enjoy lunch and one of several beachside restaurants at Las Animas and then take a water taxi back to Boca de Tomatlan where you can take an Uber or taxi back to Puerto Vallarta. Thirty minutes by car or water taxi, Boca de Tomatlan is a traditional fishing town and the gateway to southern points and beaches not accessible by road.

There are several small beach restaurants and small tiendas in town to buy snacks, drinks and tioletries.

You can take a water taxi from Boca to playa Colomitos, Playa Las Animas, & Playa Quimixto. Id recommend any of these beaches because the water and sand is cleaner. You can take the water taxi to Quimixto and hike through the trail on the way back making stops at all of the hidden beaches. Bring lots of water if you plan to hike back and grab something to eat in Playa Las Animas where they have amazing seafood!
