Very interesting visit to Idrija' s rich mining history. The tour starts with the screening of a short video that explain the history of the mine, from its discovery to its expansion. During the second part of the tour you are required to wear a coat and a helmet and a guide will take you to the real visit of the mine. Maybe not the best if you suffer from "claustrophobia" ;). The tour lasts about 1.5 hours, it is guided and the guides speak different languages. Very well organised.

The Old Mercury Mine, located in Idrija (known also for lace making), offers an amazing experience with guided tours into the second largest mercury mine in the world, where you just might catch a glimpse of the pit elf – Perkmandlc. Driving distance from Granny’s pLace: 38 km/45min
