Located in the heart of Lincoln Park and great for all ages, especially the little ones.
Not really a zoo, but has two awe inspiring live exhibits, butterflies and tropical birds. Lots of fun kid activities. Short walk from Lincoln Park Zoo, houses the winter farmers market every other Saturday morning from Oct. thru April. By North Pond, a great birding spot in spring and summer.

“Don’t miss this special place. Plenty of locals have lived in Chicago their entire life and have been to the Lincoln Park Zoo dozens of times, but have never been to this beautiful Hidden Gem. It is an oasis in the city, and after reading how much Alfred Caldwell sacrificed to see this project to completion after the Great Depression hit, I'm even more grateful to him and his family for giving us this beautiful architectural landscape feature. ”

“A must when visiting in the summer. Walking around the zoo and Lakefront is beautiful. Warning .....I tried to go to the zoo today (7/8/2020) and they wouldn't let me in without a reservation. They are limiting guest capacity due to Covid ....but it doesn't say they are requiring a reservation on their website?! Just make sure you make one, even though their website doesn't clearly say.”
