Sightseeing

Our favorite historical and  informative must see is the Forks Timber Museum at 1421 S Forks Ave located at the edge of town. Be sure to give yourself enough time to see all that is inside the main cabin with its pictures, tools and wonderful displays of how rugged and beautiful life was for the pioneers of that time. There is also a nature trail and a gift shop nearby. A lot of fun for kids as well as adults.

Buy local organic fruits and vegetables grown by nearby farms or directly on the property by veterans (not all produce sold is organic, but most is, ask). Carries some gift items and local packaged foods such as wild collected tea from a Hoh tribal member, blackberry jam, and Wild Forks Farms handmade candles. Cut flower arrangements in the summer and pumpkins, and ornaments near the holidays. This is a family owned business very friendly staff. You may order a pizza to take home to bake or have it baked for you to take home, or baked to eat it there. Happily accommodate my vegan pizza request (no cheese, extra sauce, + pineapple).

Events

Favorite library in the world. Knowledgeable and very chill staff, books and maps you can check out to plan your hiking/backpacking trip, DVD rentals, and community events. After school the library is bustling social center for kids waiting for the bus. This place truly serves the community as a place to meet and talk with your neighbors, it serves as the local area cafe (but bring your own drink with a lid). Check the North Olympic Library System website for events.
