Peaceful and beautiful at any time of year. Especially worth a visit in May to see the carpet of bluebells.

Wonderful place - an Iron Age hill fort that’s beautiful all year round and a sea of bluebells in the spring. Great dog walking and much loved by children too

"This hillfort in Devon was built during the 4th century BC. It was used by an Iron Age tribal people, probably for several hundred years. Blackbury Camp had impressive ramparts, and the single entrance was protected by a large triangular earthwork or ‘barbican’. Now surrounded by woodland, the hillfort is a popular spot for picnics."

Iron Age hill fort dating back to 4th century BC, now surrounded by woodland. See English Heritage website for further info. Particularly picturesque when the bluebells are out!
