Board the Ferry for $2.00 and ride across the Mississippi River to the quaint Algiers Point. Grab a bite to eat at one of the river front restaurants and take a stroll on the levee to capture the amazing view of NOLA from the other side.

Walkable New Orleans neighborhood on the Westbank (Locals do say, "The West Bank is the Best Bank" and if you live on this side of the river, in general, you're called "Wankers." Old Point Bar worth a look, Dry Dock Cafe and a walk along the river levee at dusk / sunset.

Take the Algiers Ferry across the Mississippi River, to historic Algiers Point, off the beaten track on the West Bank. You can board the ferry at the foot of Canal Street next to the Aquarium of the America. Algiers Point feels like a small river town and faces the whole panorama of New Orleans and offers beautiful, intact Creole cottages and gorgeous double shotguns painted every color of the rainbow. Stop at Old Point Bar, a great place for drink and live music.

Visit this historic neighborhood just a short 5 minute drive away. Stroll under the oak trees while viewing historic homes or stop for a drink at a local coffee shop or bar. You can take a nice walk on the levee or ride the ferry across the river to the French Quarter.
