Great spot for a romantic picnic! Offers multiple fantastic views, of the River, Lake and town , from the dock, to the top of Mt Baldhead! Explore all world class hiking trials along the Lake Michigan coast line for hours!…If your willing the make the 302 step climb.. you will be rewarded with the BEST view in town!!

Must visit, local and visitor favorite. "Mount Baldy" includes a 1 mile loop trail used for hiking, walking, and trail running. There are also steps that bring one to the summit where one can view Saugatuck and Douglas and Lake Michigan. Discover it best by riding across the Kalamazoo River on a hand-pulled chain ferry from the town of Saugatuck, climbing 302 steps to Mount Baldhead, and descending onto the grassy coastal sands that is OVAL BEACH

Great opportunity to get exercise climbing up 302 stairs of Mount Baldy. Once you are at the top, you will have a bird’s eye view of Picturesque Saugatuck-Douglas! You can also hike one of many trails or head down the dune out to beautiful Oval Beach located on Lake Michigan.

If you need exercise climb the steps at Mt. Baldy site of an old observatory. Good leg workout go early when cool. Neat views of harbor and romantic at the top ;-)
