This is in Topanga State Park. I love going later in the day and relaxing on the rocks around sunset.

The crown jewel of Topanga State Park is an hour's hike from your doorstep (easy to moderate difficulty). If heights don't bother you, make sure to explore the tiny caves, nooks and arches atop this iconic sandstone rock.

It is a great hike up from Trippett Ranch to be awarded at the end with Eagle Rock which looks out over the Topanga State Park in all its pristine splender. It is 3 miles to Eagle Rock, which is a solid hike uphill for those who like hiking as exercise. Mountain bikers love this trail, and you'll often encounter them on the way up or back down.

Eagle Rock is located in Topanga State Park in the Santa Monica Mountains, and it is a unique formation that provides an amazing panoramic view of Santa Monica. On a clear day, the Catalina Islands and Palos Verdes Peninsula are visible. You can park on along the street of Entrada Rd. or pay $10 to pay for parking inside Trippet Ranch (worth it to support the park and the amenities it provides). This hike offers great panoramic views and the trail is well-maintained and perfect for group hikes.
