Belmar is a vibrant reinvention of downtown Lakewood that evokes the ambiance of an old town village center. The district is based around a central plaza, ringed with cafes, that hosts concerts during the summer months and transforms into an ice skating rink during the winter.

The area is relatively newly developed, and was finished in 2004, and now has over 80 businesses located in the area.
