Excellent view of the beach and water from your car if you have travelers who can't make the walk but want to enjoy the view.

The point is where the intercoastal meets the ocean. Pack a lunch for the day, pick a side and hunt for the perfect seashell, there are SO many to choose from. This is our toddler's favorite spot. Please note parking is limited, and you will have to walk you to the point with the beach gear, but it is worth it. Beach wagons work.

Great shelling and maritime views from this westernmost tip of Oak Island, where Lockwood Folly River on one side of the Point empties into the south-facing Atlantic on the other. The currents here are strong as the two bodies of water intersect. Small public parking lot with access to short paths across the dunes lead to your choice of oceanfront or soundside adventure. Watch your the time, so you don’t get caught on the flats when the tide turns. Sunsets along the Point are breathtaking.

Down at the far west end, this is where the intercoastal waterway meets ocean. The back end is calmer and great for kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming.
