Take a 25-minute round-trip boat ride from lower Manhattan to Staten Island and enjoy the breeze!
This one hour round trip is a great way to see the harbor, statue of liberty, Ellis Island, etc. for free. Make your way in via the Metro North and connect to the subway or if you are really adventurous, you can drive during non-peak hours. From there you can spend the rest of the day exploring the city.
