If you don't want to hike the Kalalau Trail, this lookout located on the Waimea side of the island will allow you to easily view the famous trail.

20 min hike down tothe most amazing views you have ever seen! I take my personal tent in the evening to watch sunset and moon rise! wonderful place to build a fire and watch sunrise

The Kalalau Lookout is a view that looks into the heart of the Kalalau valley - one of the most photographed and well recognized valleys in all of Hawaii. It was used in films such as King Kong (the original), The mighty Joe Young, Jurassic Park, and six days seven nights. Kalalau Valley is the largest valley on the island at two miles wide. Amazingly, it was inhabited up until 1919.
