Signal Return

From February through July, Signal-Return Press hosts the Motor Signal Reading Series in one of the most unique venues in town, a letterpress tucked away inside Eastern Market. It’s a go-back-in-time experience because you’re next to old-fashioned presses, drawers of letters of the alphabet in different fonts, handmade prints hanging around you. This is the only reading I’ve ever been a part of where audience participation is expected. It’s not intimidating: Everyone is given a prompt, then they all write on 3x5 cards and share. It’s fun as a group to have some shared writing going on while you’re listening to other writers.
