Civil War Battlefield and Museum is a great way to add a little history to your visit. Be sure to take a walk through the battlefield. See cannons from 1864 and learn about the history of Wilmington. A nice break from the beach!
Fort Fisher was a Confederate fort during the American Civil War. It protected the vital trading routes of the port at Wilmington, North Carolina, from 1861 until its capture by the Union in 1865.
Enjoy walking this Historic site while taking in views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Cape Fear River and remains of a Civil War fort.
